Aquaponics and Hydroponics are an increasingly popular as a hobby. In Aquaponics, fish, yabbies and other aquatic creatures grow in water which, in turn provides nutrients to sustain plants. Nowadays, small portable DIY hydroponic and aquaponic kits have made it possible to grow your own fresh fish and vegetables at home – without the dirt.
Aquaponics WA and Hydroponic Xpress in Perth, south of the Swan, is a shop that stocks a wide range of hydroponics equipment and supplies. They also have a large display area, showcasing an amazing variety of fish, aquatic life, fruits, veggies and flowers all grown using hydroponics and aquaponics.
Danthonia designed and supplied this large LED display to help advertise products and raise awareness of the store. The sign includes 3-D life-sized sculptures of some of the produce that can be raised using aquaponics, as well as the company logos in 3D. The LED screen displays specials, events and interesting news to commuters. The entire top panel is illuminated by night.
