Cowra Shire Council Historical Interpretive Signs

Australia’s regional areas contain a wealth of history, with amazing narratives of pioneering and development from those that helped build the nation.

However, this rich heritage can easily be lost if it is not passed on. Cowra Shire Council chose to highlight some of their local history with these interpretive signs. The signs tell the stories of local landmarks such as the Log Cabin, and display information about local flora and fauna.

This group of signs are installed at a new park near the site of a historic timber bridge. A group of community volunteers collected the information and old photos, and worked with Danthonia’s graphic design team to finalise the layouts. The poles, painted to resemble weathered timber, are in line with the historic theme. High-quality vinyl prints mean they will last for years in the sun without fading.
